Warrick County Prosecutor JoAnn Jacob Krantz is pleased to announce that First Deputy Prosecutor Daniel Miller was selected to attend and has completed the Computer Forensics for Prosecutors course at the National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) in Hoover, Alabama on October 17-21, 2011.

This five-day course provides hands-on experience with computer and networking technology to allow prosecutors to obtain knowledge and insight into handling criminal cases involving digital evidence.

The National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) was established in 2007 through a partnership initiative between the Department of Homeland Security, the United States Secret Service, the Alabama District Attorneys Association, the State of Alabama, and the city of Hoover.

All travel, lodging, and per diem expenses are paid by the Department of Homeland Security and courses are provided at no costs to attendees. Upon completion of training, attendees are issued all computer equipment, hardware, software, manuals, and tools necessary to conduct electronic crimes investigations and forensic examinations.

The Warrick County Prosecutor’s Office acknowledges the challenges of prosecuting cyber predators who search and find child victims and the cyber criminals who use the Internet to steal identities and threaten our finances.
