Criminal Division
Fair and Effective Justice
While our office performs a variety of vital legal tasks every day, the heart and soul of the Office will always be to prosecute criminal cases on behalf of crime victims. Crime injures not only the victim, but also the community as a whole.
The Warrick County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office represents the State of Indiana in all felony and misdemeanor criminal prosecutions resulting from crimes committed within Warrick County, Indiana. In addition, the Warrick County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office conducts and supervises grand jury proceedings, juvenile delinquency cases, and provides information and assistance to victims of crime.
Today, more than ever, the Prosecutor must:
- Use every tool at our disposal including actively working with advocacy agencies and non profit groups to make sure that those who suffer abuse are not further victimized.
- Ensure that county residents do not become victims of economic crime and if they do, to aggressively prosecute offenders.
- Prosecute those who violate the public trust.
- Advance the training of our prosecutors allows them to present the strongest cases possible in court.
We must also remember to fight for those who every day risk their lives to protect ours.
Law enforcement officers who are assaulted by criminals will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. A police officer performing a lawful duty does not assume the risk of intentional injury.
Sincerely,
JoAnn Jacob Krantz
Prosecutor, Second Judicial Circuit
Warrick County, Indiana
